MISSIONS

PRAY.
GIVE.
GO.
We will be taking a team to New Orleans to partner with one of our two NAMB church planting partners. We will share more specifics closer to the trip dates.

From our neighborhoods to the nations, Jesus has commissioned his followers to take the Gospel to world. Here at Southside, we are always looking for ways to show the love of Christ and share the Gospel of Christ starting within the shadow of our steeple and to the ends of the earth. Our members are encouraged to be involved in missions by PRAYING. GIVING. GOING. Using Acts 1:8 as the foundational strategy for missions, we seek to provide opportunities for our people to engage in the great work of missions and evangelism. Our Fishers of Men Missions Team meets on a regular basis to pray for, plan, and coordinate missions opportunities for our church to be involved in.

How We Fund Missions:
Acts 1:8 Fund

The Acts 1:8 Missions Fund is a designated fund outside the general budget that provides financial support to all mission endeavors, organizations, trips, and scholarships at SBC. Anyone may give to the Acts 1:8 Fund at any time throughout the year either online or in person. The "Fishers of Men" Missions Team has prayerfully allocated the missions endeavors the fund will support in 2024. For a full listing, please click the link below.

2024 Acts 1:8 Mission Fund Endeavors

LOCAL ("JERUSALEM")

Whether feeding a local sports team, providing a quilt that's been prayed over for an individual in need, sending our First Responders teams out on visits, hosting an annual Fall Festival, or simply investing resources and time in our local schools, we want to impact our community where we live.

STATE/NATION ("JUDEA AND SAMARIA")

For the past several years, we have had a partnership with a mission in Olla, Louisiana. In December, we pack backpacks for disadvantaged children there who won't experience the joy of Christmas otherwise. We deliver the backpacks to the mission and seek to share the Gospel with the people who come to pick them up as well as gospel tracts and bibles inside the backpacks.

WORLD ("ENDS OF THE EARTH")

Through gifts to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, we give to support missionaries through the International Missions Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention . These funds supply living expenses for 3,526 missionaries on the field, the work of church planting, and the spread of the Gospel to the world. We also exploring international missions opportunities for the upcoming year.
